SKIMS was founded as a solutions-oriented brand. At the core of that is the fabrics we use in our products—they’re functional, soft, and high quality. But have you ever thought about how we choose our materials?

Our designers get to explore which materials will function perfectly for each collection. Cotton rib that feels light but luxuriously soft, lightweight Jersey that you won’t want to take off, or buttery-soft materials that work just as well for bras as for underwear and bodysuits.

SKIMS’ fabrics reflect our customers’ needs and preferences—from everyday wear to occasion-based needs. Here are our favorite examples:

Fits Everybody: Stretch & Breathability

One of our most popular collections, the Fits Everybody fabric is lightweight and breathable, and stretchy enough to hug your curves for max comfort.

So many fabrics stretch out or start rolling; this buttery-soft material will move with you. Fits Everybody is also versatile enough that we’ve used it in everything from bras to matching underwear to cropped camis and bodysuits. We just can’t get enough.

Soft Smoothing Seamless

Stretchy fabrics can sometimes lose their shape or just be too compressive; this SKIMS fabric has ultra light compression that feels supportive and soft. When you’re looking for pieces that give you a hug and provide a smoothing effect, this is your collection. The feel on your hand is super buttery. This SKIMS fabric comes in everything from a light support Bralette to leggings and tops, so you can go head to toe if you want!

Cozy: Dreamy and Soft

When it’s time for climbing into your coziest loungewear, this collection is for you. This fabric was developed for finding cozy comfort after a long day.

Choose between Light Cozy, which is a lighter weight boucle knit, or the original Cozy, which uses a thicker yarn knit for ultimate softness. You can build your perfect at-home outfit with items like the pullover or knit bralette, which can be paired with cozy knit shorts or lightweight leggings. Being home is now luxurious!

The Ribs: Cotton Rib & Soft Lounge

There’s just something about a soft, ribbed fabric that makes you feel at ease. Whether you’re enjoying some low-key time at home or heading out for a casual outing, we have two equally beloved ribbed collections for your everyday comfort: Cotton Rib and Soft Lounge.

Our soft lounge fabric is a modal rib fabric and is one of our most popular SKIMS dress fabrics, while our cotton fabrics are universally popular thanks to their softness and shape. The difference is that cotton rib has a dry hand feel, whereas the Soft Lounge is more slinky to the touch. Both breathable, flattering, and fan favorites!
